The re-entry visa is issued by the Embassy or Italian Consulate in the country of origin of the foreign person, in the following cases:
- when the foreign person has a document, a residence permit or a residence permit for EC long-term residents, expired no more than 60 days, if the expired document can be shown
- when the foreign person no longer has a residence permit, because it has been lost or stolen, if the claim of theft or loss is presented.
